I’m Laura (Loz) Ushay, and I do things differently.
What Sets Me Apart
At Lagoballo, I blend biomechanics (the sexy word for how horses and humans move and function physically), horsemanship, Academic training and a whole lot of laughter and heart. My teaching style is tailored to you—whether you're a beginner or refining advanced skills. I break down complex concepts into simple steps so you can ride with clarity, confidence, and independence.
Think of me as your translator—bridging the gap between human and horse so you both grow together, making sure everything clicks for you—no jargon, no rush.

I don’t just coach—I empower. My lessons are designed to help you understand the “why” behind every movement. You’ll learn how to release tension in your horse’s body, improve communication, and build a lasting partnership. If you're passionate about horses and eager to learn the “why” behind the “how,” we might just be the perfect match.
With an hour's (60 minutes) session, I ensure that students fully grasp what they learn by dedicating time to review new concepts and address any questions (I call this the "stop, lick and chew for the humans").
And yes, we keep it outrageously fun. Because learning should feel up-lifting (and those comical moments stick—just ask my students)!
Safety & Welfare First
Safety isn’t optional—it’s foundational. I prioritise safe practices and horse welfare in every session. Students who follow my approach report healthier, happier horses with stronger bonds.
