Why Terramycin Pink Eye Aerosol Never Leaves My Grooming Kit

Every horse owner has that one product. You know the one. The product you buy "just in case", only to find yourself reaching for it time and time again.

For me, that's Terramycin Pink Eye Aerosol.

Now, before anyone points it out, yes, it was originally developed as an antibiotic aerosol for treating eye infections and pinkeye conditions in animals. It contains oxytetracycline and is widely used in livestock veterinary care.

But over the years, I've found it incredibly handy as part of my thrush management toolkit.

The Reality of Horse Ownership

Why I Always Have It on Hand

What I love most about Terramycin is how easy it is to use. The aerosol application makes it simple to target those hard-to-reach areas of the hoof without getting your hands covered in product. When you're dealing with deep grooves around the frog, a spray can often get where thicker products struggle. I also find it convenient because a single can lasts ages in my grooming kit. It's one of those products I rarely leave home without, especially when travelling to competitions or heading away for extended periods.

Let's be clear. There is no magic cure for thrush. Managing thrush is about consistency. For me, that means:

• Regular hoof picking

• Keeping feet as clean and dry as possible

• Monitoring changes early

• Working closely with my farrier
